The climb

Hey us at Goulburn Mulwaree Support RFS are keen to do the climb but we dont have anything to do with BA would this be a problem ? And we dont have structural PPE we have helmets but dont have structural jackets or pants will this be a problem ?

Thanks for getting in contact - I think i spoke to you on the phone yesterday as well, and I was going to get back to you with an answer. I thought it's best to post it here in case other people have the same question.
You won't need a BA cert as people in the climb won't be donning (there are no masks on the sets), so it's basically just like a back pack. FRNSW will provide the SCBA sets, no need to bring your own.
All climbers do need to wear structural firefighting gear to compete though, and suggest that if you don't have it, see if there is someone you could borrow jacket and pants from for the day. I know it's a pain when some people don't have structural gear, but it needs to be a level playing field to make it a fair climb.

Hi Wearing runners for the climb is ok? or do we needs to wear structural boots as well

Hi Luke
Runners are fine! We actually prefer people to wear runners, it's less of a trip hazard going up the stairs compared to boots.
